So grey and wet, so cold and dreary. Birds,
A family, a bonded clan, a form
Compelled by nature or unconscious force
To live, protect, survive and struggle. Rain
Like manifested suffering impacting
Chilling drop on drop on their frail winged forms.
They fly and fly and fly and fly. They seek
Forever life, the sun, the summer that
Is transient, ephemeral just [...]

The Hubble telescope, prophetic eye,
That man, or science - what he partly is -
Tossed up into the sky just like the bird
That whispers in the ear of some
Archaic sorcerer. How far we see!
What Visions! Animation:
The stellar births and deaths, the clouds and flames -
But what if we could affix to
This technologic piece, the lens,
The transubstantive [...]

See the Driver Ants of Africa
Emerging like a smoke, a shade:
Voracity embodied; precise
As stingers snapping, scorpion
Extensions - running, gliding fluidly:
Decanted death and hunger streaming like
A furied vein. It emanates
From hollow sockets, Earthly and
Unseeing eyes: apertures of darkness:
Mystery like Sphynxish riddles. Strong,
Determined, it pursues its course
Beckoned by a hidden will:
Consume! Consume! is the command.
Were memory evacuated: [...]

I never trusted schools:
Too much linoleum and metal -
No sense of the spirit.
-
Churches didn’t appeal much either.
A church doesn’t look very different
Than a CVS.
-
But there is, sometimes,
A wildness in the Spring air
Like a fire that can be caught
Breathed, smelled, tasted.
If that is not the Glory of God,
Then I don’t know what is.

Diggers, we
Miners of profundity:
Seekers of tranluscent gems
Lining darkened, ancient dens.
Monsters loom where the heart weeps
In places where Cerberus keeps
The tiger who by fierce desire
Has bred a world of heavenly fire.
What the aged hammer clang?
The sparks that serve the gorgon fang?
Or is the ferocious urge
The means of the demiurge?
A Telos then within the storm:
Man the angel guarded [...]

Shame, a monstrosity
That builds its house on the grave of pomposity.
Pride, a lion of gold
That lives upon steeps where shame has no hold.

Rip your face on the talons of pavement,
And smell the black asphalt - learn of
The art of death, destruction and mutilate
Yourself to feel something hard and true -
Then turn and look toward the east at
Daybreak as a wine red sea floods over
The stellar pines, and the dewy grass releases
From its bonds the watery gems. See the
Contrasting [...]

You can hear the bell
Buoy chime on the dark sea
Whispering something.
Thought in faces and
Through gestures like total forms
Of people and life.
Who wants to break some
Boulders with me of social
Form and convention.
The poems dance like
Effervescence that when caught
And condensed lie down.

The hallway of flesh.
The walking feet of time.
The soul powerful.

Lo, a new psychal monster looms!
Huge, as large as Earth itself;
One eye is magnitude, the other,
Relation; his mouth a black cavern
Like infinite space; his right arm,
A telescope, his left, an axe
With which the trees of life
Are laid down. His beaming chest,
A skyscraper, and a bottle
Of Prozac pills where a dick
Should be. One leg [...]
